Yllätys Hannalta

Pöydällä Hannan yllätyksenä lähettämät pikari ja kannu/pullo. Upeaa lasia molemmat. Aivan ihanat kerta kaikkiaan. Kiitos kiitos Hanna näin ihanasta yllätyksestä, joka tuli koirapaketin mukana.

Joulu - Christmas

There is a Christmas tree upstairs just outside the children's bedroom. I have made the tree myself and most of the ornaments, too.

Hermione has dressed as a Lucia maid. I have crocheted the table mat and I had it on sell at Dollhouse Festival in Helsinki. Lucky me that no one bought it :) I am definitely keeping it myself.

There is still quite a few chrismas preparations to do. Luckily the gardener has brought the beet in and all cakes are baked.

Amaryllis

Tein jo aiemmin Katilta ostamastani kukkakitistä amarylliksen. Tein sipulin puisesta helmestä ja näyttää ihan tarpeeksi aidolta mielestäni. Näitä kukkia on aivan mahdottoman mukava tehdä Katin kiteistä, kun on toimivat materiaalit ja selkeät ohjeet. Suosittelen.

I made earlier this amaryllis from a flower kit I bought from Kati (a skilled Finnish miniaturist who makes different flower kits). I made the pulp from a wooden pearl and I think that it looks convincing enough. It is always so much fun to make flowers from Kati's kits because all the materials are great quality and the instructions are simple.

Joulukalenteri 2009 - Advent calender 2009

Vaihdoin Ainon kanssa yhden joulukalenteripaketin. Ainon paketista kuoriutuivat nämä upeat korit. Korit on punottu uskomattoman tasaisesti. Mukana oli myös pikkuruinen joulukortti. Kiitos Aino!
Romukalenterista tuli pieniä valkoisia esineitä, joista saa vaikka mitä. Lampaasta ainakin tulee lelu lastenhuoneeseen jahka se saa pyörät alleen.

Kakkuja

Tässä viimeisimät leipomukset. Kokeilin vihdoinkin Angie Scarrin ohjeella liquid fimoa. Tein siitä hilloa ja royal icingia. Mitäs pidätte? Itse olen melkoisen tyytyväinen tähän ensimmäiseen kokeiluun. Piti sitten kokeilla Runebergin torttujakin :) Mansikan siivut ovat Angien valmiista tangosta leikattuja.
I finally tried to use liquid fimo. I followed Angie Scarr's recipe. I made some jam and royal icing. I am quite content with the results. I even had to try to make some Runeberg's cakes (?) - a traditional Finnish delicatessen which was a favorite of a famous Finnish writer Runeberg. All cafes sell that around Runeberg's birthday in February 5th. (Strawberry slices are cut from a cane made by Angie Scarr.)

7.-11.12. yhdestä kirahvista teen ainakin naulakon kirjastoon
12.-15.12. Kalenteri tulee luokkahuoneen seinällä - siinä on niin ihanaa vanhan ajan patinaa.
16.-20.12. Postimerkeistä saa tauluja. Mielenkiintoisia romuja kerrassaan.
