Pile of wood - kasa puuta

Thank you for all my followers for support and all those lovely comments! It also really nice to have over seventy followers even though I am a lazy blogger sometimes.

The box is full of sheets of wood. I am now wondering if I should put the house together first and then start thinking about where to put lights or should I plan it beforehand. Thing is just that I have not figured out yet where to hide the wires and adapter. I guess I just have to drill some wholes before assembly and do the carving later. I am planning on having my building diary here in my blog.

Laatikko on täynnä puulevyjä. Mietin, että pitäisikö koota talo ensin ja miettiä niitä lamppujen paikkoja vasta sitten vai pitäisikö kaikki suunnitella etukäteen. En ole myöskään vielä keksinyt, mihin piilotan johdot ja adapterin. Kannattaa varmaan porata reiät johdoilla valmiiksi ja tehdä urat vasta, kun talo on kasattu. Aion pitää rakennuspäiväkirjaa täällä blogissa.

It's here! - Se on täällä!

I got my dollhouse kit today! I was expecting it to arrive in the beginning of September so I was really happily suprised to get it already. I had to pick it up from the Customs and pay a tax on it.

Doesn't it look tempting? I cannot wait to start, but I have to read the assembly instructions first and then draw the map for the electric wires. But that is going to be fun, too.

Sain nukkekotikittini tänään! Odotin sitä vasta syyskuun aluksi saapuvaksi, joten yllätyin iloisesti, että se saapui jo tänään. Paketti täytyi hakea tullista ja alv:kin piti maksaa, mutta ei se mitään.

Eikös paketti näytäkin houkuttelevalta? Nyt ei millään malttaisi odottaa talon kokoamista, mutta ensin pitää lukea ohjeet ja piirtää sähköistyssuunnitelma. Mutta sekin on kivaa.

Dremel

Taloa odotellessa päätin hankkia vihdoinkin kunnon työkalun - Dremelin. Nyt riitti käsin poraaminen, hiominen yms. Nasu on siirtynyt käyttämään voimatyökaluja :) Hyvin näytti poraavan ainakin puuta. Nyt pitää tutustua eri teriin (ostin heti lisäsarjankin).

Koska uuteen taloon tulee sähköt, niin sinne pitää kaivertaa urat sähköjohdoille, jotta ne saa piiloon. Käsin siihen hommaan ei oikein pysty, niin tuli hyvä syy hankkia Dremel. Suojalasitkin oli jo valmiina. Nyt pitää sitten vain tottua, että kone pitää ääntä.

While waiting my new house to arrive I finally bought a real power tool - Dremel. I am done with drilling and sanding by hand. Nasu is going to use power tools from now on :) Drilling a hole to wood took only a few seconds. Now I have to try different accessories ( I bought 100 more).

Because the new house is going to be electrified, I have to drill holes etc for the wires so that I can hide them. By hand that is quite impossible, so I had a good reason to buy Dremel. I even have the safety goggles. Now I just have to get used to the noise the machine is making.

Uusi talo - New House

Pitkään on jo ollut mielessä, että pitäisi hankkia uusi nukkekoti, jotta saisi vanhan valmiiksi. Nyt sitten innostuin Greenleafin Glencroftista. Tarkoitus on sijoittaa talo nykyaikaan, mutta sisustaa vanhanaikaisesti, lähinnä viktoriaanisesti. Viktoriaanisissa sisustuskirjoissa on niin kauniita sisustuksia, jotka olen halunnut toteuttaa ja tähän taloon aion ne sitten tehdä. Nykyaikaisuus mahdollistaa monien kivojen tehtyjen ja saatujen esineiden sijoittamisen taloon.

Nyt sitten pitäisi malttaa odottaa, että talo saapuu noin 18.8.

I have been thinking of getting a new doll house so that I could finally finish the old one. I got excited about a Greenleaf House Glencroft. I am going to decorate the house victorian style but in the present time so I can put there all my nice modern items. There are so many beautiful pictures of Victorian rooms in my books that I am really looking forward of replicating them in miniature.

Now I just have to wait till August 18 to get the house.

Kello - The Clock

BEFORE

Ostin Lontoon museosta tällaisen pienen metallisen kuninkaallisen vaunun nukkekotiini tuliaisiksi. Se näytti takanreunalla vähän hölmöltä, kunnes keksin tehdä siitä kellon. Materiaaleina Britalta saatu kellotaulun printti, tekosilmän kupu ja pätkä kultaista ääriviivatarraa.

I bought this little metal royal coach from The Museum of London as a souvernier to my dollhouse. It looked a bit odd on the mantlepiece until I had an idea to transform it into a mantle clock. All I needed was a clock print (from Brita), a piece of a fake eye and a strap of golden sticker.
