Flower Basket - Kukkakori

I have been weaving flower baskets for Facebook's "Nukkekotikirppis" (e.g. doll house flea market). The basket is made from fabric-covered metal wire and waxed cotton. I cut the wall hanger from plastic fence material. Now I also made the flowers. I bought a new punch, which makes those branch like leaves. 

Olen punonut koreja myytäväksi Facebookin Nukkekotikirppikselle. Kori on tehty kangaspäällysteisestä metallilangasta ja vahatusta puuvillanarusta. Ripustuskoukku on leikattu muovisesta aitaamateriaalista. Nyt tein kukatkin, kun ostin uuden punchin, jolla saa tehtyä tuollaisia oksannäköisiä lehtiä.

Vauvan vaatteet - Baby Outfit

Ostin Mireliltä tämän suloisen kudotun vauvanvaatesetin, johon kuului pipo (vauvan päässä jo) sekä sängyllä olevat potkuhousut ja paita. Käsittämättömän suloisia ja taidokkaasti tehtyjä.


I bought from Mirel this cute baby outfit. Baby is already wearing the hat and pants and shirt are on the crib. Aren't they just adorable and perfectly knitted.

Lamppukokeilu - Testing to make a lamp

Kokeilin tehdä viktoriaanista seinälamppua. Materiaaleina kakkukynttilän pidike, korvakorun osia ja muutama koruosa. Lamppu ei ole oikealla paikallaan, vaan kokeilin sitä vain seinälle. Sähköjä tässä ei ole.

I tried to make an victorian wall lamp. I used a cake candle's holder, parts of an earring and jewelry parts. The lamp is not electrified.

Pitsiliinoja - Table Mats

 Olen virkkaillut tällaisia liinoja myyntiin Facebookin Nukkekotikirppikselle.

 I have been crocheting table mats to Facebook's Nukkekotikirppis (Doll House Market).

Kakku on Happy Little Muffinilta. Voipytty Tarun käsialaa ja hortensia on Katriinan kitistä. Maljakko/kannu Tertsiltä (Millimari).

The cake is from Happy Little Muffin. Butter bowl is made by Taru and the hydrangea is a kit from Katriina. Vase/beaker is from Tertsi (Millimari).

Curtains, curtains, curtains...

 Olohuoneen verhot tein sametista ja hiuslakka toimi hyvin myös paksummalla kankaalla.
I made living room's curtains from velvet and hair-spray worked well for the thicker fabric, too.

 Päämakuuhuoneen verhot. Aluksi epäilin, sopiiko kangas huoneeseen, mutta valokuvan perusteella tuntuu sopivan. Kuva on otettu ajastinta  hyödyksi käyttäen kamera huoneen sisällä ja nukkekodin etuovi kiinni. Voi kun olisi kaukosäädin :)

There rosy curtains are in the master bedroom. I was not sure if they would look right, but after taking the picture I was convinced. I took to picture using the timer in my camera and camera was inside the room while the front door of the doll house was closed. I wish I had a remote control :)

 Ruokasalin verhot. Verhoista tuli erilaiset, koska keksin idean etuseinän verhoon vasta myöhemmin. Pääasia kuitenkin, että kauniit ikkunoita ympäröivät tapettireunukset jäivät näkyviin.

Curtains of the dining room are not alike, because I got the idea for the front window after I had glued the first ones in place. But it is kind of nice that I could use the ribbon I have bought over then years ago and the most I like that those beautiful wall papers surrounding the windows are not hidden behind the curtains.

I think that the dining room looks more Regency than Victorian, but I guess that while renovating the house the lady of the house did not want any changes to the dining room she had admired since she was a little girl visiting her grandparents who previously lived in this house :)

Ruokailuhuone näyttää mielestäni enemmän Regencyn aikaiselta kuin viktoriaaniselta. Mutta luulenpa, että kun taloa remontoitiin, niin talon rouva ei halunnut muutoksia ruokasaliin, jota hän oli ihaillut pikkutytöstä asti aina vieraillessaan isovanhempiensa luona, jotka aiemmin asuivat talossa :)

Kirjaston verhot - Curtains in the Study

Kirjastossa on verhot. Muistin jopa liimata ikkunan lasin paikoilleen ennen verhojen kiinnitystä.

There are curtains in the study. I even remembered to glue the window glass in place before I put up the curtains.
